Dozens of Sea Turtle Hatchlings Emerge in Panglao, Bohol

Dozens of sea turtle hatchlings have emerged in Barangay Tawala, Panglao, Bohol, marking a beautiful follow-up to the earlier sea turtle nesting reports in the area.

After previous reports of sea turtles laying eggs along the shores of Panglao, the nest finally produced two waves of hatchlings on June 15, 2026. The first batch of 29 hatchlings emerged at 10:02 PM. About an hour later, a second batch of 50 hatchlings followed.

Sea Turtle Hatchlings in Panglao Reach the Sea

Local responders and volunteers stayed on site to monitor the situation and help ensure the hatchlings reached the sea safely. Their presence helped protect the young turtles during one of the most important stages of their journey.
